This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the CALORAI mobile application and any associated services (collectively, the "App"). 1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account details: name, email address, and password when you register.
- Profile data: age, sex, height, weight, and fitness goals you enter to personalise your experience.
- Health & fitness data: meals, calorie logs, macro targets, water intake, workout records, and daily goals you log in the App.
- Communications: messages you send us via support channels.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and app version.
- Usage data: features accessed, screens viewed, session duration, and crash reports.
- IP address and general location (country/region level) for analytics and fraud prevention.
1.3 Health Data from Apple HealthKit / Google Health Connect
With your explicit permission, the App may read from or write to Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect (e.g., steps, active calories, body weight). We use this data solely to provide features you request within the App. We do not share HealthKit or Health Connect data with advertisers or use it for advertising purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and improve the App and its AI-powered features.
- Personalise calorie targets, meal recommendations, and fitness insights.
- Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset).
- Analyse usage trends to fix bugs and improve performance.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data or health data to third parties. We do not use health data for advertising or marketing purposes.
3. Sharing Your Information
We may share information with:
- Service providers — third-party vendors who help us operate the App (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting) under strict confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice to you.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. You may delete your account at any time from the App settings, which will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) and access controls to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access & correction — view and update your profile data at any time within the App.
- Data deletion — delete your account and associated data from Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Health permissions — revoke HealthKit or Health Connect access at any time through your device's system settings.
- Marketing emails — opt out via the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- GDPR / CCPA — if you are a resident of the EEA, UK, or California, you have additional rights to data portability, restriction of processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Third-Party Services
The App may integrate with third-party services (e.g., Apple Health, Google Health Connect, payment processors). Those services have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices. We encourage you to review them.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) where required by applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by sending an in-app or email notification. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
